The trigger
Yesterday, I took my finger off the trigger without squeezing it and today I still don’t know why.
Change
He sits on his balcony overlooking the numb city. The sun has yet to rise it’s head from bed. The air is crisp and fresh from rain. He speaks out, perhaps the breeze, “Do you smell that?” He takes in another intoxicating breath. “Change.”
